Banque Pictet & Cie SA – Pictet Bank & Pictet Asset Management
Origin of Banque Pictet & Cie SA
Pictet was founded in 1805. At that time Geneva was under the rule of Napoleon, and the financial aftermath of the French Revolution was still very strong. In 1880 Ernest Pictet & Cie employed ten people. Headquartered in Geneva, Pictet is represented across 27 locations in 17 countries around the world. The original logo of Pictet on the coat of arms shows a lion sitting on the city wall. The coat of arms dates back to the beginning of the 17th century when it was first mentioned in the Pictet family history. It should symbolize courage, resistance, and strength. In 2015, the logo and the lion were redesigned to accommodate the digital world and be easily recognized on mobile devices.

Philosophy and Strategy
Pictet is one of the top asset managers in Europe. Six managing partners run the company, and they report to an independent regulator. In June 2018, Boris Collardi, former CEO of Bank Julius Baer, will be the 42nd shareholder in the company’s history. In addition to the managing partners, 37 equity partners have a stake in the company. The three key features of the Pictet Group are independence, long-term thinking, and responsibility.
Independence because the Pictet Group has no shareholders. The company is very much rooted in the independence of Switzerland. Traditions are fundamental to Pictet. A successful investment strategy can be targeted through autonomy. Sustainability is a top priority at Pictet, so a long-term mindset is crucial. Short-term trends are not what Pictet wants and needs. Who thinks and acts long-term carries a great responsibility. Pictet assumes a great responsibility and thus creates a great deal of trust.

We act exclusively in the interests of the client.
We are a fully independent boutique law firm. That’s why we don’t have any cooperation agreements with the banks.
Few banks do not disclose their Annual Reports to the public. Therefore, we collected reliable information on a best-efforts basis. We renounced to collect information from unreliable sources. Until today, Swiss law does not impose the duty of publication to the banks as it is the case in the EU. Therefore, for a few banks, the information from the annual reports was not summarized and published.
There are some smaller banks without a rating. It makes no sense for them to apply for a rating because they are not involved in the lending business. If the bank has no rating, it’s not automatically a negative point. There are excellent private banks without a rating.
If you want results in private banking do the first step now and call us.
One hour after your first call we accompany you in the bank solving your issue.
We act faster than any other big law firm in Zurich.
